Travel on Kandy – Nuwara Eliya Road, pass Rikillagaskada and proceed to Watumulla. This is the 3rd highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. A dual waterfall, it has a total height of 189 meters. Distance between the two main waterfalls is 20 meters.

Right throughout the year, the falls are fed by streams that never dry up, even in severe droughts. Kurundu Oya is a stream originating from rainforests on the northern slope of Mount Pidurutalagala. Owing to the perennial rainfall these forests receive, the waterfall never dwindles. Its waters flow on to form yet another small waterfall downstream, known as Gurugoda Ella before joining with the Mahaweli River, and feeding the Randenigala Reseroir.

For the most part, Kurundu Oya flows through several Tea Estates.  The whole area has great appeal for ecotourism.
