Situated at the centre of Matale Town this is the oldest and the main Hindu Kovil in Matale. The Theru Festival celebrated here is well known world over and it is believed that all wishes made at this Kovil would become a reality. 


Built around 1800, the creator of this Kovil is said to person known as Karupannan.
