Travel from Gampola, via Ulapane on the road leading to Kotmale New Town, turn at Kadadora Viewing Centre to the ascending road and proceed approximately 4 kms to reach this site located in the Kadadora GN Division.
The Stupa, second only to Ruwanweli Maha Seya in height, has been built on the picturesque Kadadora Mountain summit. 


On 22 March 1983, construction commenced according to a concept of the Late Hon. Gamini Dissanayake, former Minister of Mahaweli Development, on the 289-foot-high, bubble-shaped Stupa. Its pinnacle is 13 feet in height and 06 feet in diameter. Deviating from the classic solid-bodied dome structure, this massive Stupa has been built with a hollow interior. It is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.
